Conductors
The conductors of RIAS Kamerchor are among its most important building blocks. Each of them brings their own ideas about sound and working methods to the choir. You can get to know two of the conductors here—principal conductor Justin Doyle and honorary conductor Uwe Gronostay.
“Its exceptional quality over many years makes this choir a jewel in the cultural landscape—far beyond Berlin.”
Justin Doyle
Principal conductor Justin Doyle has led the choir since 2017. His expertise spans from Renaissance and Romantic to contemporary music. His enthusiasm for this repertoire is visibly and audibly conveyed from the conductor’s podium to the choir and audience.
Honorary conductor Uwe Gronostay
Hardly anyone has had such an impact on the choir as honorary conductor Uwe Gronostay. Not only did he establish new concert traditions, he also played a key role in developing a sound ideal that we still find today in the RIAS Kammerchor and in choral music as a whole.
