Messiah Tour Concert
The RIAS Kammerchor was founded as a radio choir in former West Berlin in 1948. In keeping with this, its activities focused to a large extent on recordings for radio and concerts in West Berlin. Concert tours, in contrast, were more exceptional occurrences into the 1980s. After German reunification in 1990 and the founding of the Rundfunk Orchester und Chöre gGmbH four years later, the RIAS Kammerchor became more internationally oriented: today, its singers are regular guests in renowned concert halls all over the world. In the 2026–27 season, the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin will have guest performances under their principal conductor Justin Doyle in Hungary, Italy and Spain, among other places, in Ethiopia for the first time, as well as in several German cities, thus continuing to play a role as cultural ambassador of the city of Berlin.
