Viktoria Wilson

Born in Dresden, Viktoria Wilson has always loved singing and has sung extensively in choirs. She first appeared on stage as a member of the Dresden State Opera Children’s Choir. She also sang in at least two choirs, including a gospel choir, and during her studies she sang in the Berlin Radio Choir, the NDR Choir, and the Auditiv Vokal Dresden ensemble. Her bachelor’s degree took her to SVSU in Michigan (USA), followed by a master’s degree at the Dresden University of Music with Prof. Edward Randall and KS Olaf Bär. In 2019, Viktoria Wilson was accepted into the RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin and also made a name for herself as a soloist, working with conductors such as Justin Doyle, Florian Helgath, and Peter Dijkstra. In addition to her work with RIAS, Viktoria is also involved in freelance projects. Under the direction of Peter Schreier, she sang the soprano part in one of his last concerts (St. John Passion) (concert recording), and in collaboration with Capella de la Torre, she can be heard on the CD Monteverdi: Memories, which won the Opus Klassik 2023 award.

What does it mean to you to be part of the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin?

Singing in the RIAS Kammerchor is actually a dream I never dared to dream. Early on, I appreciated and used this top choir as a source for my research during my studies, thanks to its extensive discography. Being accepted into this choir exceeded all my expectations, and even during the first projects, I felt a sense of fulfillment that I had never known before. I am grateful to remain part of this big family.
