
Korean soprano Mi-Young Kim studied singing at Kyungwon University in Korea with Prof. Sang Young Lee, opera singing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin with Prof. Renate Faltin and Prof. Julia Varady. During her studies, she appeared in several operas as a lyric coloratura soprano and expanded her repertoire and musical expressiveness by attending master classes with Prof. Dr. Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Prof. Julia Varady, and Prof. Mirella Freni. Since 2010, Mi-Young Kim has been a permanent member of the RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin and sings an extensive repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music.
She has performed successfully as a soloist and ensemble member in numerous concerts and recordings under renowned conductors such as Iván Fischer, René Jakobs, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Alexander Liebreich, Florian Helgath, Pablo Heras-Casado, and Justin Doyle. Soprano Mi-Young Kim is actively performing as a soloist in Berlin and the surrounding area.
