
German baritone Darius Herrmann was born in Ashiya, Japan, in 2002. He began his musical training on the violin at the age of four and gained his first stage and vocal experience at an early age, appearing in numerous productions both as a soloist and as a member of the children’s chorus at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
Following a formative period as a member of the St Thomas Choir of Leipzig, he completed his secondary education at the “Carl Maria von Weber” State Grammar School for Music, specialising in violin. Since 2022, Darius Herrmann has studied voice at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin with Professor Roman Trekel.
As part of his studies, he has appeared on stage as Voce in Mozart’s “Idomeneo” (2024), Frank in Johann Strauss’s “Die Fledermaus” (2025), and Alberich in excerpts from Wagner’s “Das Rheingold”. During the 2024–25 season, he also appeared as a soloist in the chamber opera “Desert of Water” by Huihui Cheng as part of the NEUE SZENEN project at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. In 2026, he performed in a concert presented by the International Siegfried Wagner Foundation at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie.
Darius Herrmann is a scholarship holder of the Giovanni Omodeo Foundation.
