Mezzo-soprano Anna Heinecke, born in Osnabrück in 1999, grew up in a family of musicians and was introduced to classical music at an early age. She began playing the violin at the age of five and sang in a range of children’s and youth choirs throughout her childhood, including the Lower Saxony State Youth Choir under the direction of Jörg Straube.

From 2019 to 2023, Anna Heinecke studied classical voice at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre, where she completed her bachelor’s degree under Professor Jörn Dopfer. She graduated in July 2023 with distinction. While still a student, she performed solo roles in a variety of oratorio works, including Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio” and “St John Passion”, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Requiem”, and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s “Elijah”.

Since April 2024, she has continued her training in the master’s programme in concert and opera singing at the Freiburg University of Music, studying with Professor Mareike Morr. There, she has appeared in several opera productions, including in the title role of the Child in Maurice Ravel’s “L’Enfant et les sortilèges”.

Alongside her work as a soloist, Anna Heinecke sings with a number of renowned choirs and ensembles. Since its founding in 2021, she has been a member of the German National Youth Choir, directed by Anne Kohler, as well as the Stuttgart Chamber Choir, directed by Frieder Bernius.

From February to July 2026, Anna Heinecke was a member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin Academy. Since September 2026, she has been an Academy member of the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin.
