Anette Lösch grew up in Schweinfurt (Bavaria). She studied German language and literature at the Free University of Berlin and devoted herself to her passion, singing, alongside her studies. She received her musical training in various vocal ensembles and with renowned singing teachers in Schweinfurt, Würzburg, and Berlin. After completing her studies in literature, she concentrated entirely on singing. She has performed in concerts and recitals at venues including Berlin Cathedral and the International Lake Constance Festival. She gained further experience in ensemble and choir work with the Collegium Vocale Gent under the direction of Philippe Herreweghe. With the Vocalconsort Berlin, she appeared in several opera productions at the Berlin State Opera, including Purcell’s Dido under the direction of Attilio Cremonesi and Monteverdi’s Orfeo with René Jacobs.
What was your most memorable experience during your time in the choir?
Singing in the RIAS Chamber Choir requires a high degree of flexibility—vocally, musically, and personally: from early music to modern music, from the factory hall to the philharmonic hall, from Madrid to Vienna and Wiesbaden in three days. My most unforgettable concert was Chorrennaissance—like a phoenix rising from the ashes during the pandemic. The choir finally sang again in front of an audience in the Great Hall of the Philharmonic, sitting generously spaced apart and wearing masks. It was moving, comforting, and a gift to be able to sing live again and to feel our own joy and that of the audience.
