Bernhard Heß
On 1 May 2006, the management of RIAS Kammerchor was placed in the capable hands of Bernhard Heß. He succeeded Frank Druschel, who now manages chamber orchestra Württenbergisches Kammerorchester.
Bernhard Heß was born in 1961. He studied music for schools and the teaching of musical instruments in Mainz and Berlin. From 1990 until 1996 he managed Alsfelder Vokalensemble and Barockorchester Bremen before spending two years as project manager with a marketing and advertising agency, which involved working on the Mecklenburg-West Pomerania Festival, the Kurt Weill Festival in Dessau, and the Telemann Festival in Magdeburg.
Between 1998 and 2005 Herr Heß was one of the two directors of the Bach Archive Foundation in Leipzig, where he successfully developed and established the city’s annual Bach Festival.
