James Wood


James Wood is one of the most respected contemporary composers. He studied composition with Nadia Boulanger in Paris before taking percussion and conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London. As the founder and director of the New London Chamber Choir he has built up a huge repertoire ranging from mediaeval to modern music and recorded numerous CDs. He regularly appears as guest conductor with internationally renowned choirs, orchestras and ensembles, such as the Netherlands Radio Choir, Rundfunkchor Berlin, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the Cologne-based musikFabrik.
