Hervé Niquet

Multitalented Frenchman Hervé Niquet is universally famous as a harpsichordist, organist, composer and conductor. In 1987 he founded Ensemble Le Concert Spirituel, with whom he mainly dedicated himself to eighteenth-century French music. Niquet’s recordings of works by Lullys, Rameaus, Campras and other less well-known composers have for years been regarded as milestones of interpretation history. In 2002, he established the Canadian orchestra La Nouvele Sinfonie. Two years later, he was appointed artistic director of the Beethoven Academy in Antwerp. Thanks to his diverse repertoire, he is now a popular concert and opera conductor all over the world. This is the first time that Hervé Niquet has worked together with RIAS Kammerchor.
